I haven’t posted about Crossfit in a while because I didn’t want to over-do it. I’d lose a lot of my audience if that’s all I wrote about. So, I sprinkle a little Crossfit here and there within my posts. It shows up like the glitter on a handmade valentine – Just enough to make it sparkle. Too much, and, well… that’d just be plain tacky.
Truth: I’m loving Crossfit. And I’m sure I could write about it daily or weekly and still have plenty to say. We’re there 3 days a week and my abs have never looked so good. Now, if I could just do something about my pasty paleness… I’d kind of be the whole package.
I kid, I kid. Seriously, though, I do love it and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. Granted, I’m still scaling every WOD to “my” weight, but I’m getting there. And the day that I can walk across the room on my hands like a little monkey, will be the day I buy bananas for everyone.
I have to scale the pull-ups and ring dips, using bands. And don’t even mention a hand stand push-up. My version is just plain silly-looking. Snatches still confuse me and I’m amazed at those who manage to finagle a muscle-up. Ridick!
But, I’m getting there!
Recently, Iron Tribe Fitness (a.k.a. My gym) held a Crossfit 5K, consisting of WOD’s scattered throughout the run. It was absolutely insane. Below are a few pics of the WOD’s and my better half in action. Take in mind you had to run 3.1 miles in addition to all of this madness!
Insane, right???!! But so much fun! Congrats to the almost 200 participants on running a great race. BIG, HUGE, GINORMOUS congrats to my sweet husband for giving it 100%! (He’s lost 20 lbs, btw. If you see him, compliment him on it, for God’s sake!)
